Supercritical extraction
Extraction is a method for separating a substance from a solution or a mixture of solid substances. This is done using a solvent, which may have varying degrees of solubility. In supercritical extraction, the extracting agent, or solvent, is a supercritical fluid. A liquid or gas is in a supercritical state when its temperature and pressure exceed its critical parameters.
The aim of the workshop is to learn about supercritical CO2 extraction technology. The workshop will include carrying out a manufacturing process with a discussion of its various stages and the individual components of the extractor. It will be preceded by OHS, GMP/GHP training and a subject-matter introduction. The practical part will take place at the Experimental Plant (NUTRIBIOMED) located in Wrocław Technology Park. The next part will be carried out in the laboratory and will involve laboratory analysis of the product obtained. The workshop is a one-day event.
The process and laboratory parts will be followed by a discussion of the results. Afterwards, the participants will receive workshop certificates of completion.
